Reported Crop Circles for the State of Pennsylvania -

Limerick Township, Montgomery County (May 26, 1992)

Three circles 5' in diameter arranged in a triangle amidst at least 12 "matted down" or 'randomly-downed' areas; one area "t-shaped". Discovered by a police officer the day after a heavy rainfall and strong winds that lasted until the early evening, he reported finding no tracks leading into the circles or downed areas, and reported no broken stalks. Geiger counter readings were normal.

Dr. Bruce Rideout from Ursinus College noted node splitting and cracking as well as a ‘reorientation’ of the growth nodes. A second formation near Linfield was also reported.

W.C. Levengood reported finding significant node bending and lateral node splitting as well as increased cell wall pit diameters of plant cells from the circle formations. He also reported finding reduced embryo development from formation samples as compared to control plants.

The Miami Herald reports on May 29,1992 that a dozen circles were found and that the farmer believed it was caused by excess fertilizer and wind that combined to produce the flattening.

Two additional reports of RDF-type flattening from nearby Linfield and Royersford, PA [both in Montgomery County] which may have been related to this event.
